What is Woohands?
Woohands is a free collaborative consumption platform for services booking and professionals hiring. We make it easy to hire the right professional for any project or to book any kind of service. By signing up on Woohands, you'll create a profile page where you can describe yourself and offer or search for services. Signing up, using and maintaining your page on Woohands is free.
Services offered in Woohands
While we want to help every business grow, for your safety we don’t offer the following types of services on Woohands:
-Businesses that offer products without accompanying services
-Services provided by minors
-Services whose account holder didn't provide a real name
Sign up as a service provider
When you're ready to join Woohands, you can sign up on our homepage. Then you'll be able to select the services you offer and fill out your business information. Once you’ve finished entering your information, we’ll create automatically a new account and business profile for you.
Editing basic info
When you sign up as a pro on Woohands, your basic information will automatically be displayed on your profile. Your basic information includes:
-Business name (if you have)
-Address (with the option to show your full address or just city/town)
-Customer facing phone number (with the option to show/unshow it)
By login and click on your name in the upper right corner you are able to edit your basic info.
Editing pictures and videos
The media section of your profile is important because it shows off your skills and helps customers visualize what their project could become with your help. It's also a great way to display what you've been working on so don't hold back on showcasing your accomplishments. You can upload photos and videos to the image gallery on your profile. Depending on the service you offer, you might want to add a combination of all, but make sure your media highlights your business in a professional way.
Edit business info
The business info of your profile is where you can share more details of how business works. In this section you can:
-Change your business name.
-Add your business logo.
-Share when your business was founded.
-List the number of employees for your business.
-Adjust your travel preferences.
Change travel preferences
You set the travel preferences for your business, which means you can find new customers as close or as far away as you'd like. Here's how:
1. Log in to your Woohands account.
2. Click on your name.
3. Select the Travel menu.
4. Use the checkboxes to change your travel preferences.
5. Use the drop-down menu to update your travel radius.
Change travel distance
We give you the option to adjust the travel preferences for your business so you can meet customers from the areas that are right for you. If you're receiving requests from customers that are too far away, or if you want to increase the distance you’re willing to travel, you can always adjust your travel settings.
Keep in mind:
-The blue circle is your travel radius and it’s based on physical distance. When you make adjustments to the distance you are willing to travel, that distance will change in all directions.
-Turn on the They travel to me option to receive requests from customers willing to travel into your area for your service. If a customer chooses to travel to you, they’ll choose how far they want to travel. This means you’ll sometimes receive customer requests outside of your travel radius, since they’ll be traveling to you instead.
-If you offer a service not specific to location (for instance if you offer online tutoring), you can turn on the Phone or internet only option to receive additional requests from customers looking for your service nationwide.
-Changing these preferences will also change how many requests you receive in general. If you aren't receiving very many customer requests, setting a higher travel preference will most likely send you more customer requests and setting a lower travel preference will send you less.
A great profile can really make a difference with your relationship with providers. You can change its options from the user menu.

After searching for pros or sharing the services details you're looking for, you'll receive quotes, messages, and follow-up questions from professionals. We’ll email you whenever you receive a new quote or message from a pro. You can contact them through the Woohands chat system.
The majority of people using Woohands are trustworthy and well-intentioned, but it's very important to take the same precautions online as you would offline.
When meeting someone for the first time:
Insist on a public meeting place like a cafe.
Do not meet in a secluded place or invite strangers into your home.
If you're going somewhere to meet someone, tell a friend or family member where you're going and take your cell phone along if you have one.
Consider having a friend accompany you.
Trust your instincts.
We automatically invite customers to leave reviews for the professionals they hire on Woohands. So you may receive a few reminder emails asking you to review the professional. If a pro was marked as hired before the work has been completed, you’ll receive review reminders prior to the completion of your project. Feel free to ignore these emails until you’re ready to leave your review. In order to maintain trust on our site, we generally do not edit, change, or delete reviews that comply with our Content Policy.
Tips for success
Here are a few tips to help you provide your customers with high-quality, professional service.
Quotes and pricing:
-Stand-out quotes. Write a quote that’s personable and clear, stating why you’d be a great fit for the job. Show genuine excitement for a customer’s project. Respond promptly to the customer’s messages and calls.
-Transparent pricing. Having the lowest price doesn’t always mean you’ll get hired. Customers have consistently told us that they’re more interested in finding the right professional than the lowest-priced professional. If you know your price is on the higher end, explain why. Offering clear pricing—like what your price includes and what costs extra—makes customers much more likely to hire you.
-A competitive profile. Depending on the service you offer, you may need a license or another qualification to work on certain projects. Also, reviews are critical: pros with at least one review get hired 66% more than those without reviews, and pros with 5 or more reviews get hired 75% more than pros without reviews.
Meeting the customer:
-Make a clear appointment with the customer. Be specific about the appointment time and make sure the customer knows if they need to prepare anything for the visit. It’s also a good idea to confirm the appointment.
-Set a time frame. Make sure the customer knows how long the job will take.
-Give the customer your contact information. That way if anything changes the customer can contact you directly.
-Arrive on time. The customer’s time is as valuable as yours, so make sure you’re prompt. If there’s a delay, contact the customer right away.
-Keep the customer informed. If you’re working without supervision, tell the customer what you’re planning to do. Before you finish, speak to the customer about what’s been accomplished, and any additional steps they may need to take.
After the project:
-Follow up. Send the customer a text or an email to make sure they’re happy with your work. The customer will appreciate your thoroughness.
-Ask for a review. Remember, reviews have a huge impact on getting hired by future customers. So don’t be shy about asking for a review using your review link.

Pros who deliver great customer experiences through their work, their professionalism, and their quotes will receive more requests. There are some factors that determine the customer requests you receive:
Your preferences: the category and travel preferences you select
Your market: the number of customer requests in your categories and location as well as the number of other pros competing for business
The customer experience you provide: the experience you deliver to customers through your work, your professionalism, and your quotes
To receive more requests, provide a great customer experience. Here are some of our best tips:
-Build a great profile with photos, a description of your service and service disccounts

-Offer good service so customer love working with you and write positive reviews
-Set your category preferences and travel preferences accurately
Writing a great quote and contacting customers
There are many ways to write a great quote and make first contacts with customers. Here are four of our favorite tips along with some examples:
-Personalization: using the customer’s name in your message can be a great way to set a friendly and personal tone. Take some time to address specific details the customer mentioned in their request, and share any insights to let them know you understand and will listen to their needs.
-Professionalism: customers want to know why they should hire. Tell them why you think you’re the right person for the job—and don’t be shy about it. You can share details from similar projects you’ve worked on in the past, and even describe how you think your unique skills meet their needs. However you decide to show off your business, make sure you have correct spelling and grammar in your message.
-Price: explain what is and what is not included in your price. It can also be helpful to include how your price may change, and what factors may influence a final price. Offering this information is helpful for the customer to know, increases how likely you are to be hired, and shows that you’re an expert that can offer insight.
-Providing next steps: customers sometimes that means they aren’t even sure where to start. Give them direction and reassurance by letting them know what they should do next, and when you’re available to talk.If the customer doesn’t respond, try sending a follow-up message with an invitation to contact you. That way, you've done your best to let them know you’re still available and interested in their project.
When you hire or you’re hired on Woohands you’ll work directly with them to figure out payment. At this time, Woohands doesn't have a platform to facilitate payments, so we recommend using the method that works best for your business. Requests and notifications
Updating email preferences
You're in control of how and how often you would like to receive Woohands emails. If you would like to add or remove email notifications, then you can change your notification preferences.
Receiving few or no requests
The number of customer requests you receive is based on your preferences, your market, and your value to customers. If you’ve noticed the number of customer requests you're receiving have decreased lately, take a look at the article Getting the Right Requests, which gives some tips about how to boost the number of requests you'll get. If you're not getting any requests, try these two troubleshooting steps:
-Check your settings: to make sure you’re not missing new requests, it’s a good idea to check your notification settings to verify that your request notification emails are turned on. You can also view your services types to make sure you’re receiving requests for all the services you’d like to provide.
-Check your spam folder: You may also be missing new requests if our request notification emails are being sent to your spam folder. If they are, add email@example.com to your contacts list and mark one of our emails in your spam folder as “not spam.”
